Even older ones, with the intervention of our technicians and with contained investments, can thus be made more efficient and productive over time.
The new Unicore winding technology, mounted on the new Nexus lines, can also be installed on previous models of the same series. Remarkable advantages can be obtained from this upgrade regarding precision, overall reliability, and ease of machine use. Thanks to this technology, starting from core introduction, every transfer and winding phase takes place with greater precision, efficiency, and fluidity, increasing production capacity and reducing machine downtime.
Many machines in the S60 and S70 series are equipped with the Nadella linear motion unit, used to power the log pusher/extractor and the cross-cut gluing head (“Rabbit”). Over the years, these units are subject to wear and sometimes require costly replacement. UCT has developed an OEM replacement system using very simple components, much more accessible and easily maintainable than Nadella units:
The clamps of T35 and T35S models can be upgraded with the new patented system for Unico365. This is a mechanical upgrade that allows separating the clamps as soon as the cut is finished to avoid friction between the blade and the log. Numerous benefits are obtained: blade heating is drastically reduced, extending its lifespan and reducing efficiency drops, and cutting quality is improved (especially on rolls with higher density), reducing waste.
The Unico365 head sharpening group upgrade applied to T35 and T35S models includes some improved components for longer blade life and the elimination of grinding wheels powered by air motors in favor of a free-operating system, much simpler and less expensive to maintain.
An upgrade introduced by Unico365 technology that allows logsaw to automatically control the cutting blade arm angle to compensate for diameter reduction during normal use. The upgrade involves the installation of a sensor and associated electronics, as well as software modifications within the HMI&PLC system.
This upgrade, also known as “Open Door Management”, involves revising the blade software of T35 and T35S saws. In case of an E-Stop or opening a door during the normal cutting cycle, instead of having to discard a partially cut log, the blade can be restarted to resume cutting the log from the exact point of interruption. This results in obvious advantages in terms of productivity and waste reduction.
